Cupboard 1
The art of glass lives so well alongside the beauty of wood. To take
a piece of simple furniture and replace a part of it with glass adds
another dimension to the art.
This art nouveau cupboard, found in a junk shop, has its wooden door
panel removed and a glass panel inserted. A lamp was fitted inside making
a bed side cabinate with ots oiwn light, great for childrens rooms as
night lights. It belongs to the Art nouveau bedroom suite.
Cupboard 2
This cupboard started life as a cheap pine dressing table with no door,
given to the artist along with a broken agate mobile. A simple frame
was made and hinged to the unit and painted in a eggshell church candle
cream. The mobile was dismantled and leaded into a simple creamy glass
and a battery operated strip light placed in the cupboard. A simple
and effective example of recycling unwanted items in the house.
Furniture 3
This backgammon board will be placed into a cut out rebate in a lounge
coffee table. For strength reinforced glass will be place either side
and fixed into the table. Underneath a series of battery operated lights
will be attached to light up the game.
Mirrors
Mirror is also a glass beautiful in its own right bringing extra light
and space into a room. Mirror works so well with coloured glass to
create a working piece of art you can use and live with every day.
MP1
This mirror was commissioned as a wedding gift by the bride and groom.
The fire place and colour of the room was designed together with the
artist to compliment each other and to work as a whole.
A smaller replica
was ordered to go in the hall.
MP3
Colours chosen by the client to clash with the room rather successfully.
MP4
Commissioned to match the halls curtains and carpet.
MP5
A client with a sense of fun and vibrancy.
Mirrors can be made to any design and colour specification and to suit your existing room style.
